i had the same thins dude, except i was the useless ****. Legaly you have to inform the insurance company but you dont have to claim. also i got points for not reporting it to the rozzers within 24 hours. If you can sort it out with the big cheese, do it. up to you to report it or hope it goes un-noticed. i dont see the point in telling rozzers though as its just to much hastle.

report it to cover yourself, but say you will not be claiming through them as they have offered to settle privately. if they go back on there word later on, you're covered.

Just had the call from his insurance company they are already processing the claim, sending someone out to check the car over and offered me a hire car.

Got a mate who owns a body shop, so thats more than enough to get the body work sorted. The guy from the insurance company said this was purely for the body work, and to get it sorted out, then if there is anything wrong with suspension etc after the body work is done they will deal with that seperately. __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by a_c I doubt its homophobia, i think he just plain dislikes gays.

Yep, its a non fault accident, it'll still almost certainly put your premiums up a bit. __________________ www.kaownersclub.co.uk

that sounds a bit odd tbh Did they not mention them getting it fixed for you? Once you accept the cheque any extra costs over the £530 for repairs will be down to you to pay i'd guess. Body shops are quite pricey too. The work done on my civic was just over a grand which was new rear bumper, fix rear slam pannel and boot lid and spray bumper and lower tailgate __________________ 2008 Street A: 145.8 (UK record @ 145.6 :D) 2009 Street A:...

Ouch... luckily it's just one panel though, if you're sorting it out privately I'd insist the fender is changed. I had a sitaution where the bodyshop figured it would be better to mallet out & re-shape with filler, it looked fine, but after a while a small hairline crack started showing up where he'd repaired it. .

i would guess then that by privately they are just going through their liability insurance, rather than your insurance claims from their insurance. EDIT: and make sure you get a suspension geometry check. could have bent something. any damage on the other side?
