how to adjust quadrajet ( post 1 of 8) hey guys. i finished putting the new heads on the boat. took it out for a ride and i lost 400 rpm's!! i have to play with timing and carb adjustments. my question is, on the quadrajet carb, i cant seem to find the screw to richen and lean it out, where is it?. can someone give me any pointers how to correctly get ...

( post 6 of 8) i can tell you that the secondaries are opening. the boat is responsive and seems to run strong, but when i went out the other day, i didnt see over 4500. before the head swap she would push 4900 at wot. there is one screw under the choke linkage but it doesnt look like a adjustment needle....

( post 7 of 8) If I may.... First I'd say you need to get the timing set properly. Was this Quad running well before the head swap? Okay if you then decide to richen it up a bit, do you want to richen the cruize speed or wide open throttle? Gotta read the plugs. Cruz or economy rather can be adjusted on the later model Quads from the ...

( post 8 of 8) This may sound like a dumb question to you, but,just a thought , You said you put on new heads,,, but exactly what kind of new heads???...are you Sure their better than what you took off, ??? and is it the same intake or different?? This could also be another issue, possibly even spark related... just throwing out some ideas out here...

Cruz or economy rather can be adjusted on the later model Quads from the top. You know where the gasket that seals the air cleaner to the carb. Right in front of the choke horn...
