Thread: how do you calibrate for sub + MBM-12 with Audyssey?
Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by KBMAN
thanks guys,
I currently have the epik Tower and the HSU MBM-12 (mid-bass module)all hooked up the way it should be for my (now old) Lexicon MC-1 processor. I'm going to get an Integra DHC-40.1 that has two sub-outs and Audyssey. How would you guys hook this up? My first thought was to do exactly what I'm doing now; a Y splitter and treating both subs as one. Or should I use both sub-...

Sorry Bill, but this doesn't answer my basic questions. Anyone out there with an MBM-12 and a sub with Audyssey? Thanks for the link though

You can find the manual on the integra site. I didn't read all of it, but my thought is that both sub outs are summed. In that case, I should just use the Y adapter.....

Yes ... assume that you will need to make the subs look like a single entity to the AVR/PrePro/Audyssey. ...

You mean like instructions on the multiple ways to connect the MBM? I think that always required the end user to read and ...

After looking at the DHC-40.1 manual you are correct that the subwoofer outputs are summed.
So either way...

I don't think that's really possible given the nature and purpose of the MBM.
MBM covers 50-150Hz (or 50-80Hz in practice.)
"True Sub" takes over below 50Hz....

I don't know of any (current, automated) way to handle that. Perhaps the standalone Audyssey Subwoofer EQ has enough ...

Perhaps, but if you're not using the x-overs the way it was intended, I ...

I'm just saying it's not as simple as just hooking it up and kicking off the Audyssey setup. It's not hard, but it's not plug and play...
