i got this from brewerfan.net and it sounded like it makes sense: It does seem like Hamels is on the outs in Philly due to a combination of bad luck, unrealistic expectations, personality "issues", and the need for a scapegoat. Your giving up Lawrie and Braddock for a two pitch pitcher who may not ever be the pitcher he was last year horrible.

Well Hamels wouldn't have to be concerned with pitching into October. He'd like it.

maybe im misunderstanding, but by my count, you want to give up 7 of our players/prospects for cole hamels? LOL

I wouldnt give up that much for Hamels, but its a nice idea. Hamels has about $23 million in surplus value, which translates to a guy like Gamel or McGehee straight up. The Phillies dont need any more lefties in their lineup, so might be willing to give up two years of a 3.5 win pitcher, for 5 years of control of a potential power bat at 3B. He would be the best pitcher on the Brewer staff ...
