I completely agree with you as would I, but Im not saying that I think we should spend money like its going out of style what Im saying is more than staying competitive its doing what ever it takes to win. If we miss out on Holliday because we couldnt go that extra year or that extra 10 million then so be it we tried. I would like to add that when Holliday has been given 600 ab's or been healthy enough to get them he has hit 30+ HR and 100+ RBI. Not to mention he hit way over .300 both those years. I agree hitting behind Pujols will help his stats, but people have to remember thos estats of 30 and 100 were in Colorado.

It looks like the Mets are going to get into the thick of things for Jason Bay.  I believe if the Mets do end up signing Bay, Holliday will be heading to Boston.  Do you see any scenario where Boston doesn't end up with Bay or Holliday?
