yeah i was thinking of getting it replated or a whole new cylinder but i juyst went with the plating

speedfreek replied 3 months ago
You should to be able to get it re plated for less than $200. Here is a place that re plates them: http://www.mt-llc.com/

Toadz400 replied 3 months ago
I didn't know KFX400's had plated cylinders. It used to be that buying a new cylinder was cheaper than re-plating them but I'm sure prices have come down as it becomes more popular.

400ex Motor Swap For Reverse? Can anyone enlighten me as to the fabrication needed to put a 2005 motor in my 2001 so I can have reverse? The guys at the local bike shop say its not possible...I know better Anyone?

Toadz400 replied 3 months ago
I would say it's going to be a few electrical differences (safety switches, reverse indicator light, etc.) and possibly the engine has different dimensions or mounts differently. Nothing is impossible without time, patience, and money.

Where exactly is it leaking from the bottom of the carb? Is it leaking from the over flow? Just because you cleaned it doesn't mean that the float is adjusted properly. Look up in your manual to find where your float should be sitting.

I've been out of the scene for awhile but back in the day DG used to be worthless at making anything. No idea if they've changed in the recent years as far as quality and performance goes. I would try searching the site.

I actually like to run a precharger over my UNI for the simple fact I dont use a air box lid plus I feel that it keeps the filter cleaner and doesnt give up much flow you dont have to but you wont have to clean them as fast either
