Thread: guitarnoise Winter Solstice Jam

Started 4 weeks, 1 day ago by dogbite
Winter Solstice is about a month away. plenty of time to throw together a jam. I found this backing track. it seems to set the mood for the beginning of Winter. the long night time begins. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single ... 44564&q=hi the ending seems to be cutoff or abrupt. I imagine that can be amended.

My bad! Sorry Dan. Interface turned up, had some problems getting it to be recognised by the computer consistently (nothing like "losing" the interface halfway through a good improv to kill a vibe...) but should have something for you very soon. I promise!

Thanks for the update Sara. I've made a few changes to the teams, (see below), but you still have the same spot you did before. Since I've not gotten any updates from jwmartin, and he seems to be M.I.A. around these parts as of late, Vic Lewis has graciously agreed to jump in and take his spot, and since I know Vic can kick out a jam in record time, he is going to finish up team 1 so we at least ...

Greg and I were planning a record-a-bit-then-send-back-and-forth idea that kinda morphed into "heck, we'll be jamming in a couple of weeks, why not just record it together then", partly owing to the both of us suffering technology breakdown. We'll figure something out, but it'll def get done. I really do feel a bit guilty about taking so long with this ...

Well, even though his work started to pick up, and then he came down with a bout of the flu, Mr. Lewis still got his part finished in under two weeks! I'll start working on the mix now, so hopefully we'll have a completed Summetime Blues Jam by the end of the weekend. Team 1 0 - 1:20 = etm - Finished 1:21 - 2:27 = Dan T. - Finished 2:28 - 3:32 = Vic Lewis - Finished 3:33 - ...

So, Team 2 - you guys all just give up or what? Team 1 0 - 1:20 = etm - Finished 1:21 - 2:27 = Dan T. - Finished 2:28 - 3:32 = Vic Lewis - Finished 3:33 - end = almann1979 - Finished Team 2 0 - 1:20 = smokindog 1:21 - 2:27 = boxboy 2:28 - 3:32 = gnease 3:33 - end = Scrybe

We should have recorded something in the last few days, but I got distracted and I think nease had his hands full with something else. What's the deal with everyone else? 'cause I'll get stuff laid down if this is still going off.

Well Sara, it doesn't look like anyone else is still interested in finishing this jam since we can't get any updates, and I haven't heard from them via PM or email in awhile. Since this was the "Summertime" blues jam, and summertime is officially over as of today, I'm closing this jam down and moving on. Thanks to everyone who did participate and stayed in touch during this jam. You guys ...

Sorry about not getting back to you guys on the jam. I've been working hard and heavy on my band's EP to get it ready for release last Saturday (going to post it on Hear, Hear in just a few minutes). I'm also in the process of moving and so I shut off my internet access a few weeks ago. Thanks to Vic for picking up my slack.

Dogbite - i sent you a more detailed PM about this - but i have to pull out of this jam im afraid. I dont want to, but school is taking my laptop off me and sending it back for some work under warrenty - all i am being given in return is a desktop in my lab at work - which i cant record on (i dont fancy moving a clunky old desktop to and from school and my house). The problem is im not sure when i will get my laptop back and so i cant be sure...
