Thread: Those of you who feed outside birds...How many pounds of seeds do you feed them? rop

Were on the 2nd floor, so this is all off my balcony. I'm amazed at how much they are eating  

I have 2 feeders and a 20lb bag of black oil sunflower seed usually lasts rop a month and a half to two months. Are you sure you don't have squirrels or maybe raccoons eating the seed too? I have to bring my feeders in at night b/c of the raccoons. They actually stole the suet cage I put out a few weeks ago. Little buggars!!!

I just refill when empty. I have several feeders, and I use black oil sunflower seeds from Costco+ in Canada, and it's usually about $12 for a 20 kg bag. I also put up some finch feeders with niger seed, and some suet blocks for the woodpeckers. During the summer I also have my humming bird and oriole feeders.

gosh, I don't keep track. we buy 20lb bags every few months. we have 3 feeders ro and one has a suet cage. the suet eaters are not around right now though, so we don't fill that. mostly we have house finches and doves, and once in awhile we get obscene flocks of blackbirds.

My parents feed "their" birds bags and bags. They eat soo much! 1 or 2 suets plus seed a week
