Thread: end stage liver cancer

my dad is in end stage liver cancer his eyes are very yellow as is his skin he sleeps all the time and doesn't eat at all and drinks very little. we have brought hospice in is ther any hope for him?

My dad died of angiosarcoma of the liver from exposure to vinyl chloride. Working at any chemical plant puts the workers at risk!! If your dad worked around this stuff - beware! It is almost always misdiagnosed as other forms of liver cancer. If anyone needs more info on our experience, I'd be happy to inform.

I am affraid there is very little hope. I never like to say NEVER. Miracles happen with prayer. 1 week prior to my Sister-In-Law's death, she was very tired. My mum just died from Liver cancer and sorry to tell you but liver cancer is the worst type of cancer as there is no cure for it. You need to make sure you spend every min. you can with him loving him thats all you can do. My mum got jaundiced and her belly was swollen and she died 4 weeks later. Hospice will make him comfortable and control any pain he may have but just enjoy every day you ...

She started getting yellow 4 weeks before she died and then couldn't eat and her belly started swelling up. My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in April 2008 with only 3 months to live. Her Dr called her, her miracle patient as she lived 18 months and just died 3 weeks ago. She started getting yellow 4 weeks before she died and then couldn't eat and her belly started swelling up. I don't know where you are but if you are in NSW and need to take him to a palative care hospital then Braeside Hospital in fairfield are the best...
