Mac OSX Snow Leopard
Mail v 4.1
My normal upload time with everything other than email is over 300
kbps. With my email sending is 5 kbps. This is not a typo and this
is a dsl connection. 5 kbps on sending email.
My discovery:
One word email .. 5 kbps... compose identical email and send to same
address... 311 kbps!
I repeated late with same results 1st with dial up...

I don't know anything about how your system reports upload *bandwidth*
(expressed somewhat like speed in data chunks per second) - but you are
using the term 'time' which is not the same thing; miles per hour is an

Yes, just had large update to OS this morning, but it made no
difference. Problem still exists.

When I send mail, I don't observe any numbers. I observe a brief status
report of what is going on; and the transition from one status
condition to another doesn't...
