If only it worked that way... It actually backfires. Alcohol is hard on your immune system, so now your body is distracted with clearing out the alcohol when it should be focused on fighting the virus. Not good. Also the alcohol will cause you to be dehydrated, which is the exact opposite of what you want to do for a cold. Alcohol isn't great for colds, that's for sure, but if it helps you sleep then it might be healthier than not sleeping. I like herbal tea w/ rose hips. This is high in vitamin c and everyone know vitamin c is good for the immune system. There has also been some research lately on Vitamin D, and its effect on the immune system, so you may want to pick up a bottle of vitamin d if you don't eat much dairy or don't get much...
