Thread: does this sound normal to you?

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by TennisGal
Hi Ladies, DD has just gone through 6 week growth spurt, which now seems to be coming to a close-ish. She was grizzly and wanted to feed throughout - totally normal. Then on Thursday night, was back to 10min-ish feeds very regularly, and a good nights sleep (waking up twice for feeds, not grizzly) However, last night, she only slept for an hour! She was crying a lot (and she's not a...

Crying can cause gas, and I imagine guzzling can too. Poor kiddo! Sounds like you both had a rough night. It sounds like she might have gotten severely overtired, and just couldn't settle. It's possible the gas was painful, which made her cry and not want to eat, which made her hungry, causing more crying, more gas, etc. until she was just so exhausted and sore she didn't know which way was up....

We found infacol constipated Noah, he's doing better now without it and we walk him about upright to get rid of the gas. We also give some aired water by syringe (midwife recommended this) He wouldn't take it in a bottle.

We found infacol made the farting/trapped wind worse actually. Have you tried bounding her on your knee? It makes Imogen fart like a trouper, which seems to relieve things. Also, if your baby doesn't mind baths, a nice hot bath will help her fart too. It was deffo just a phase with Mog, and she snapped out of it pretty quickly, but occasionally she'll be like that again and there's very ...
