Yeeees. It matters, alot. If my room is not clean I just close the door and hope mom doesn't walk in. The rest of the house...we try our best to keep it top notch lol and it actually feels really good to walk in to a nice clean house. Oh and I must say, mum's pretty generous with her compliments if she likes something : D

I think it has less to do with being a blind drone of your parents and trying to please them (as some of you are saying) and more to do with making your parents proud in all that you do. You want your parents to see you excel so they can see that all the hard work they have done has yielded good results. Not just with cleaning the house (as Feroza's example states), also with education, career, your morals, the way you raise a family,...

yep her view of my house keeping abilities matter a lot!! I should mention that my mother-in law's opinion matters more at this point
