hi all, Ok i have an old dell latitude c600 laptop, i have been trying to add more ram. after searching on line for memory that will be compatible with it, i got my self a 256mb stic, as i have a 128mb stick in place now.. the problem is when i start up Laptop it does show in bios screen i have 320mb.. still only shows 128mb But when i look in system tools, system info, it shows i have 320mb when iam viewing all my ssytem deatails? ok, the one's ive tried are two pc133 and two pc100's that had 4 visible chips on them. do you think i should try the ones that have 8 visible chip things on them? when i tried one of the pc100 256's and one old 128, my cpu booted up, but my cpu properties said only 128. it was like it wasn't even recognizing the new memory. so the low density ram has 8 of those black squares on the stick and high has 4 of them? thanx for...

Yo man, it's chill. If you have your MB manual or specifics it says on it which dimms (memorys) it can handle. Make sure that the MHz (speed/pc) does not exceeds the MB (Motherboard) statictics(?), if that still doesn't work you probably have a failure with your MB unless you've just in some weird way has shut of the dimm slots in your BIOS, you should check that aswell and reset your CMOS, if the CMOS is bad, replace your RTC...
