hi all, Ok i have an old dell latitude c600 laptop, i have been trying to add more ram. after searching on line for memory that will be compatible with it, i got my self a 256mb stic, as i have a 128mb stick in place now.. the problem is when i start up Laptop it does show in bios screen i have 320mb.. still only shows 128mb But when i look in system tools, system ...

Each memory slot can hold SDRAM, PC133 with a maximum of 256MB per slot.* Computer memory upgrades for Dell Latitude C600 Series Laptop/Notebook from Crucial.com It should work...Can you get into the BIOS/Setup screen? If so, see if there's anything to change in there.

i have the same problem, but it doesn't even turn on period, the green light flashes a couple of times and the cpu makes a quick sound as it will keep makeing sounds, but it only makes a short boot up sound and then dies. it works fine with the old memory, but ive tried pc100 and pc133 so is it the density thing? how do i find ram that will be compatible and i already updated the ...

Try getting one more 256 dimm, replace it with the 128 one, make sure both dimms are the same speed. Try again.

ok, the one's ive tried are two pc133 and two pc100's that had 4 visible chips on them. do you think i should try the ones that have 8 visible chip things on them? when i tried one of the pc100 256's and one old 128, my cpu booted up, but my cpu properties said only 128. it was like it wasn't even recognizing the new memory. so the low density ram has 8 of those black squares on ...

Yo man, it's chill. If you have your MB manual or specifics it says on it which dimms (memorys) it can handle. Make sure that the MHz (speed/pc) does not exceeds the MB (Motherboard) statictics(?), if that still doesn't work you probably have a failure with your MB unless you've just in some weird way has shut of the dimm slots in your BIOS, you should check that aswell and reset ...

This is an old thread - but are you saying you trust an eBay seller over Crucial's web site? If so Why on Earth would you do that?
