Thread: complete carbon fiber door?

I think I found a thread that has the weight dif. http://www.newcougar.org/forums/exte...ed-pics-2.html stock hatch is between 50-60lbs the carbon fiber is 18lb

Someone put it on a scale... there are a few very knowledgeable people giving both weights in that thread. heh.

if erfnick or i cant find my post it might be a it before i can weigh it. but the glass weighs as much as the metal does in it

OK, newcat016 has the CF hatch that I originally bought installed on his Cougar, and it fits pretty well. You can only use one hatch strut as it is way too light for 2... The stock hatch weighs around 50-60 pounds depending on if it has a rear wing or rear window wiper assembly... The glass weighs about 12 lbs if I remember right, as I sold newcat the glass as a separate piece from the CF hatch... the Cf hatch weighs about 8-9 lbs. And the...

but on to doors.... nope, never going to happen. at least never if you don't have several thousand dollars to pay for one off parts and ABSOLUTELY FORGET about having a window or any type of waterproofing. speaking of which, I am need of a pair of door shells. if anyone has some leads, that would be appreciated.

Door Armour did them YEARS ago. JJennings had a pair..Actually I think he had a set in FG. They were still pretty pricey though.
