hi all, 3 weeks ago i went for a smear test(1st one in 7 years!) stupid i no,also had to have coil checked received a call few days later saying i had an infection and i was prescribed some pills to take for 5 days nurse told me 3 weeks i would have my results through from smear,,,5days later i receive a letter saying i have severe dyskaryosis!!,the next day i receive a letter from hospital ...

Hi Wendy, I've been through exactly the same as you so know how worrying this can be. The colposcopy proceedure is fine - it's just a way of looking more closely at your cervix. OK nobody wants to have a stranger that up close and personal, but I promise you that it sounds far worse than it actually is. Hi Try not to worry too much about the length of time etc, depending where you are, time scales vary so much. As Mouse says, the colposcopy is really not that bad. thank you so much for replying, my app is first thing tomorrow morning,i hope if i do need treatment they can do it there and then,that will be a little weight of my mind knowing hopefully the bad bits have been removed! soon as i get home i will post on here to tell how it all went! thank you

hi wendy, i went for a colposcopy last week after being diagnosed with severe dyskaryosis following smear. can understand how anxious you are feeling, i was too as i had not been for a smear for 10 yrs. can say in all honesty however that the colp was fine, less embarassing than a smear and less uncomfortable as well. i was unable to have treatment that day as area that needed to be treated was ...

thank you all so much for all the support, i've spent hours and hours on the internet searching about this,this site has made me realise it isn't as bad as i first thought, i didnt actually realise there would be so many people with the same problems! as until 3 weeks ago id never even heard of the hpv virus but now i no it is quite common, after reading through other peoples posts on here i'am ...

hi all, just back from coloscopy, had the lletz treatment it wasn't as bad as i thought,just a bit sore at mo! now just a waiting game again waiting for results! i'm hoping and praying everything is fine, i thank everyone for there re-assuring replies and i wish everyone who is waiting to have this done all the best i'll keep you all up dated when results come through wendy x x x

hi wendy, time scale is frightling, i had my first appoinment last wednesday and this wednesday i go in for a ga. i have glandula neoplasia, stil not 100% sure it is but dont sound nice. hooe ur tests came back clear. happy resting. lisa xxx
