Thread: collagen cream

Started 3 years, 6 months ago by dolly
Hi everybody, Just returned from visiting my mom in Florida. Boy did we have fun with mixing all the SAS ingredients. I'm 52 and mom is 72. We decided that collagen was the answer for aging. Here is what we came up with. Rather potent! 2oz.canvas 1 tube EGF 1 tube Dermagen 1 Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 4 drops anti-ox 1/2t. niacinamide 1/2t. Boswellia Serrate 1 cucumber ...

The only thing I would think to suggest you add is HA and Sodium PCA. That combo would certainly plump up the skin, and it does help with the collagen thing. With the humidity in Florida -- your mom's skin would look very smooth. The combo not only attracts the moisture from the air, but then forms a protective barrier to hold it in where it matters. I have even taken to ...

Patty, You don't find that Sodium PCA makes things "sticky"? Every time I use it, I'm sorry I did. In fact, I'm putting it with my soap making supplies, so I don't forget and put it in my creams anymore. I know some people love it - maybe it's just me. Wouldn't be the first time. Kathy

Hey, Kathy . . . How are you -- not sticky, I hope! har, har, har -- is it humid there? Well, I have not had that problem. In fact I have a solution I do with HA and the Sodium PCA (50/50) + 2 drops of the AntiOx, that just goes around my mouth to get rid of those little lines. AND it seems to be working. You know me, always experimenting. I tried putting the Ceramides in, and ...

Nope! It's the PCA without a doubt. I had tried it on my hand before and thought it was sticky, so didn't make Susie's eye cream (haven't seen her around in a long time?) Then I must have read on the boards about someone loving it - forgot - added it to my latest concoction and it was a disaster. I added water and surfactant and it's OK again - little thin, but I just ...

Thanks Guys! The minute he walks in the door, this feeling like "All is right with the world" comes over me! His skin looks a little broken out - think I'll make him something before he leaves Kathy

Patty, I used to put EGF, SOD, PP3 and Dermagen into all my mixes.  But, as we all know, some of my mixes are disasters.  So, now, I have a water, HA serum with all of the above that I put on before anything else.  I am saving a bundle by not having to buy more everytime I decide I hate what I made and have to start over (although you probably don't have that problem anymore).  But the biggest...

Hi!     I joined the forum 4/9/06. Since then I have made lots of different creams, trying many different actives. I just wanted you to know, the one I like best and did the most for me, is the collagen cream. I seem to go back to it every time. So if you tend to have dry, over 50, skin, try it, it works great.   Dolly

Dolly, back to your recipe, I like it.  After Hannah's talk tonight in San Diego, you are "right on" the money with the combo.  This would be absolutely great after a peel, make the skin plump right up and cure some miserable free radical damage.   So excited, off to order more EGF.  I am really wondering what I have been missing by not adding it to everything . . .

Kathy,   The army must be disciplining them! I dated a navy pilot before and he had the cleanest and most organized house I've ever seen.   Have fun with them. Is he home for good now?

Kathy, this is a great idea. Can you give us the amount of each you use; i.e., how much water etc.  Also, do you refrigerate your serum or are you making small enough batches so as not to require refrigeration?  Thanks!

Hi Dolly,   I love your recipe - I made it for my Mom.  She uses it at night and recently started using Hannah's Anti-Aging cream in the morning.  I also made her some of Patty's DMAE Souffle and she uses that on her neck and loves it.   Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for sharing!!!  Tabetha
