How many of you that have had or are having a boy are getting it done? And if so are you doing it right after birth?

I do plan on cicumsizing him but we dont have the money as of right now to get it done. Tax money will be paying for that as long as the peditrician will do it.

We are.  Dh and my ds are, so this ds will be too. My dad was not circumcized until an adult when he kept getting infections.  He said it was one of the most painful things he's ever gone through.. when he found out I was having a boy... he said, please circumsize while he's a baby.   OTOH... BIL was circumcised (like my dh) and his skin grew back during childhood. His mom did not have it ...

My son is not circumcised, but we chose not to because my husband is not. I've heard people say that father and son should match. Plus we figured that if he ever wanted to be circumcised, he could make that decision, but if we had it done... well, you can't really undo it. lol.

BrandyI1989 ~ Just so you know, if you  haven't already double checked with your pediatrician...A lot of peds won't them after 30 days...some go up to 6 weeks. So, I would double check with your ped if this is something you really want done...maybe you can start a payment plan or something and pay it off with tax money...just an idea....

I'm not, i can't bear the thought of how much he is going to be hurting and when i went to my baby care basics class the instructor made a pretty good point. If you don't do it now, it can always be done later, sure it will hurt but atleast he'll be able to express the pain and say it hurts but if you do it now, it's gone and you cant go back, you cant put it back, besides, if it's the hygienic ...

My son will be right after birth...DH is as well.  Our insurance covers the cost

Yes. My DH is circumcized and we want them to look alike. Also, I've heard several stories about adult circumcisions and I would not want to put DS through that. I know everyone has an opinion on this, but this is the right thing for us. I think our pediatrician will do it the first or second morning of his birth, while he's still in hospital.

I left the decision to my husband and he said absolutly so we did it with my son. It was a day or so after he was born. 4.5 yrs later he is not holding a grudge against us so I think it's really ok lol!

My little boy is getting circumcised today actually.  It was supposed to be done in the hospital, but since he was in the NICU for 2 days, they didn't do it.  I also left the decision to my husband.

We will be getting it done right away when the baby is born while he is still in the hospital.  The sooner the better from what I hear.
