Hi..I’ve never had a boston & I would like to add one to the family (I don’t really want to buy a puppy though) and every time I’ve seen one needing a home on Craigslist (which has been 4-5 times this year) the posting says it needs to be an only dog & I don’t see them at the dog park very often..so I’m wondering how the breed tends to be around other pets..and if there are any rescues in the ...
Well, I have two BTs. One is pretty friendly with other dogs, and with the other one we have at home (for the most part). Mainly, between my two BTs, they play fight with each other. Our second BT is a bit hyper and we think he’s a bit insecure, which we think leads him to try and prove himself with other dogs. He likes going after other dogs, and there have been a couple times that it has ...

My Boston is a grumpy old man but i’m pretty sure it’s because he was never properly socialized.. He is also very protective of my but from what i’ve read that seems to be normal for Bostons.
my mom has a female Boston that she rescued and she’s a little sweet heart.. very friendly to other animals and people.
I hope you eventually find the right dog.. they are a great breed.
mine only goes after bigger dogs as well, and only males then. So far in my neighborhood hes gone after a golden retriever, 2 labs, and a dobey. The korean lady down the block has a pomeranian and it terrifies my BT though. He has no fear of the larger dogs though. He plays well with my male cat, although he cant really tell when the cat has had enough and usually gets his butt kicked.
My Boston (mimz) she has no problems with other dogs . She does have a things sometimes for cats. But for the most she generally leaves them alone. She is friendly along as you give her a chance to check you out. If you let her come to you she is fine.
My BT likes to play, but his idea of play and another dogs idea sometimes varies. If the other dog isn’t dominant my dog tries to take over, sometimes a little too aggressively. Usually when I remind him that I’m actually the dominant one, he plays nice.
So I guess for him it doesn’t matter what size the other dog is, it’s the other dog’s demeanor that determines if he’s aggressive or ...

Doobie, age 13 is not nice to other dogs but loves all people. Jack, age 2 loves all dogs but is very leary of people. Both HATE cats. Dogs are like kids. You raise them the same way and they turn out to have their own personality. LOL Foster care givers can tell you alot about the dog you find through a rescue group. Good luck with your addition :)
The "Lost Dogs" flier on a pole near my apt.... The "Lost Dogs" flier on a pole near my apt. only shows a pic of the dogs FROM THE BACK. What--are they hoping that other dogs will call in?
