for those who think the L31 is dead, your wrong. GM still offers a 292 horsepower vortec 350 for Marine use.

Thats pretty cool James that they are still around. I have a friend that has one on his boat. I think if gm ...
Vote is in on the 5.3L, because there the only v8 in the voting pull on the thread that gets the best all around gas mileage and able to still pull trailers with descent loads

the SBC doesnt have the fan boys that the hemi had/...

you are wrong my friend. i know a good ...
this is truf. in our shop alone, 4 SR mechanics kept there newer trucks(1 5.3, and 3 6.0s) for about a month before trading it in for a diesel. they said they justed needed more end grunt. one said the 6.0 was decent, but he didnt like the gas it drunk
Ok, I own two traditional small block chevy engines. I love them and will probably never get rid of the SBC in the Camaro. That said, the LS-based engines are far superior to the 1955-based SBC in every way. Durability, power... everything.

I am a NBS promotor , but put a 350 in a new truck and see if people would buy a 5.3 or 6.0L. add some better heads and a ZZ4 cam to a L31 would make a great engine package for a truck
The things people argue about on forums it’s entertaining as long as my truck starts everyday and gets my ass down the highway with no problems I’m happy with it

Not on the poll but the 6.2, either L92 or L9H. The LS engines have superceded the old Gen 1 and Gen 2 small blocks in every shape and form. However...... I don't really like the shift to smaller rev happy V8's too much. That's why I like the 6.0 and the 6.2 litre for that matter. They still displace some cubes ( 364 cid and 378 cid respectively) and make half decent low end power along with the better breathing and higher rpm...
