From the wall street journal, regarding the health care bill that narrowly passed the house:
".......All but the smallest employers would be required to provide insurance and pay for most of the premium, or they would face a fine of up to 8% of their payroll......"
They are already beating up the small businesses with taxes, and they hit us at every opportunity. I'm just sick and tired ...
Maybe this doesn't apply to you. How many employees do you have?
Lots to work out still with this bill. I really don't believe it's going to be a bad thing for America. Change is tough but I think we're all going to be okay. More than okay, we're going to be better.

I work for my family's business and we already provide health insurance (we have approximately 20 empolyees). The company doesn't pay any of the health insurance, but it can get a discount, not nearly as good as if we had 2,000 employees. I don't see how this is going to change with the new HC bill.

It's okay if it applies to businesses that are large enough to employ a lot of people, yes. I'm not sure what "a lot" is though. I'm not quick to assume the worst. I don't believe healthcare reform ...

And I would bet money that H4D's, if she really...
I don't see what you see, Noey. I guess maybe it all boils down to who you trust more to provide access to healthcare .... the government or big business.
I trust the government more than I trust big business. Big business had their chance, they didn't cut it.

I have a real problem with making insurance coverage mandatory for everyone, including fining and jailing those who don't have it. There are people who are in a position to, and who would rather, pay their own medical costs out of pocket. Yep. They're rich. (And many of them are also philanthropists who donate huge dollars to those in need, so don't tell me that they "deserve" whatever they get...
Our friend owns a small, 4 employee, construction business. He said if he has to provide health insurance for his employees he'll have to dissolve his business. In this economy he's barely getting by and can hardly afford health insurance for his family. Even as it is now with all the payroll taxes he pays, his once profitable business is now struggling to make ends meet.
You think a 10.2% ...
As have I, I don't understand why if it's "such a great plan" the congress people are not going to be covered by it as well. Yeah??? No one is required to take the public option. No one is asking you to ditch your care to take the public option. Why should they? I'm not ditching Tricare, that would be stupid since I already have it. But if I needed to, I'd have absolutely no issue with using the public option.
