I have a 2.5 cm nodule on my thyroid which is/was making me hyper. It's a hot nodule so they are pretty sure i'ts not cancerous. My T3 and T4 are normal but TSH is slighty off. I did have symtoms of the hyper T but for the last 2 months I"ve been doing the homeopathic drops and I have to say for the last 2 months I feel normal despite of this nodule on my thyroid. The surgeon gave me 2 choices...

My nodule is 3cm but I’m not going to panic over anything. All of a sudden it seems like everyone is having a thyroid problem who never did before. Why? I am going to try to keep my sense of humor over this. For one thing I have a nice knife and sword collection and keep thinking I could probably cut the thing out myself. That’s what a friend of mine said anyway. I guess I’m not too afraid ...

Hi Sher....LOL....thats' good you are in good spirits. Have you had any tests done. IS that what they are going to do...surgery that is? Have you been feeling fine as well? RAI is radioactive Iodine. You drink this and have to stay away from people 5-7 days(while you glow..j/k) and then you turn hypo and basically it kills your thyroid. Personally that sounds more scarier then surgery.

Yes, had the test done where you swallow the nuclear capsule followed by a sonogram. Blood tests were in the normal range. I have no symptoms and no clue. Evidentally the doctor could feel this when he felt around my neck. I’m still clueless because my neck looks perfectly symmetrical. I don’t feel a thing. He gave me two choices right up front. I could get a biopsy and sonogram and if ...

It's actually nice to hear that somebody else has the lump but no symtoms. Well I mean it still sucks for us that we have to go under the knife still but I've read story after story where these poor people have such awful symtoms. I guess we are somewhat lucky in that way. I don't know what is causing all this thyroid problems. It seems like everybody has it and where I live it's double then any ...

if the radioactive iodine kills your thyroid and you may go symptomatic i would def have it cut out...will that affect your thyroid? sorry for the questions but this was an interesting feed. i have many symptoms that are not fun and it is interesting how you can have a nodule and no symptoms. best of luck.

HI Confusa. I was told if I were to go for the surgery, they would rmove half of my thyroid that has the nodule. By doing this, I may not need meds after because it is possible to live normal with just one half remaining. But that is not garanteed. I did have symtoms(quite a few) of hyper thyroid. It was just in the last couple months that I have been feeling fine since I've been on the ...

I have no idea how much it’ll cost but I understand it’s not a catastrophic expense. I’ll have to whip out the $5,000 deductible I’m sure. No problem. There are money trees growing all over the place. I found out some interesting things today. I heard that thyroid problems can make a person mean. Is that right? I just can’t get happy right now and seem to be jumping at everybody. I ...
