I am starting to worry whether I am an alcoholic. I have breastfed my baby exclusively for five months, then I started work. I feed her in the morning and then in the evening when I get home. I always make sure that I do not feed her at least after twelve hours when I have had one, or two (or three glasses of wine) 1. I am wondering if I am an alcoholic 2. i am wondering if I am affecting...

...I don't know if you are an alcoholic; only you can decide...but, yes...you are affecting your baby when you drink and then breast feed...by how much...I don't know...

...I respectfully disagree Brenda (...;)...)...if one is drinking enough or often enough to worry about being an alcoholic...but...we all have levels of acceptable...I, myself...back in the day when I drank a glass of wine with my meal (yes, I know...strange for Monica)...I would enjoy a glass at the company Christmas party and then breast feed my son in the morning...

Either stop drinking or stop breastfeeding.  If it is bothering you to the point where it is on your mind and you are writing a post about it....I think instinctively something is telling you that you should not be consuming alcohol while breastfeeding (whether it is 10-12-24 hours later). In this day and age...so much is expected from children and they are being expected to learn at ...

LOL Monica.  You can disagree with me.  I am hearing your opinion.  Even if I agree with your opinion (and I do agree with part of it) the facts are not changed and can be found in any doctor's office or alcohol councelor can give the same info.  Fact....Alcohol ALWAYS evaporates at the same rate of speed, no matter how much you drink or how much you weigh.  Fact...no matter what I THINK, the ...
