Started 1 month, 1 week ago by troy_mclure
i lent a buddy my kel tec p32 to cary for a few days so he could see if he likes it or not. i wasnt planning on going anywhere, but the cabelas urge got me. so i got my xd40sc out of the truck, with my bladetech uch holster. i was annoyed! heavy, bulky, tugging on my belt, etc... i dont see how you full sized gun guys do it!? i cant imagine lugging a 4" revolver, or ...

One word, "Airweight". Or is that two word?

One more suggestion, Walther PPS. Lightweight, small, thin, 9mm.

P6 with a good stiff belt. 5.11 Tactical makes a pretty good casual one. Crossbreed Supertuck to spread that weight out. I'm actually more comfortable with this rig a lot of times than I am when I carry my 642. Go figure!

I bet the bad guys don't lug one around all day either. Just put it on to go do a "job". Sadly, since they have no set schedules, the good guys have to be ready all the time. Notice police do wear heavy duty belts and such all the time to help support the "burden". Maybe weight is the primary appeal of poly guns for them. Maybe your mouse will suffice as your basic requirement is to suprise ...

I understand. I had a CHL but didn't reliably carry a gun until I got a P32. I tried to carry a Sig 229, a full-size 1911, and a Bersa .380. But after a short period of discipline, the gun stayed home. Then, I bought a P32 and I carried it every day for years. Front pocket carry and a true pocket gun made a big difference. But I never really liked .32 Auto and the teeny little gun ...

It's easy all you have to do is wear it IWB long enough for it to stretch out your belt to the point that you have to wear it or your pants will fall down!

Different strokes for different folks. I pack an Officer size 1911 and don't know why people pack mouse guns? In actuality, I have always recommended that someone carry the largest caliber gun they are comfortable with. And that gun must be comfortable for their hand. Guns of the same caliber do come in different sizes. If your gun is "right" for you, then you are where you should be....

Mouse guns serve several purposes, all which are good imo.Except one,but there is always trade offs. That one is that people who do have to use it had better be lucky or very well trained to get the shot placement. So that trade off is effectiveness. I will admit i would have never given .380 any props until i shot one.I think its the smallest id ever carry also.Modern ammo seems to be what ...

Quote: What i dont get is why people buy .22 .25 .32 when they could have a .380 which can be had in the same size package. Now i know some people already have these guns and buying a new one isnt always the best move. But buying a .32 new now over a .380 i dont understand. Because finding .380 ammunition in quantity or at a reasonable price is ...

I think sometimes i do alot of things out of novelty,if that makes any sense. I have a subcompact .45 and a full sized 1911 and the later is carried 75% of the time.Despite it being bigger and heavier and the bulk its alot more to deal with over the compact. But yet i prefer to carry it. Ive only been CCWing for a couple months so much could change even soon. Since im able to and even willing to carry large guns im glad i do.But im surely glad...

Quote: Most people who have carried a gun for 10+ years begin to see this, and carry smaller guns-realizing the unlikelyhood of firefights and zombies. I've had a concealed license for 18 years, if I was worried about gunfights and zombies I'd carry something a lot bigger

I'm sure if most of us were going out in the wilderness, and knew there were dangers there, we would carry a bigger gun. But for every day carry, a small gun suits me just fine. As I said, I keep a couple of bigger guns nearby.

Quote: If you had my experience of meeting up with five ferral dogs in a wilderness area who were starving and thought I looked like dog food you would quickly change your mind about a mouse gun. Skeeter, if you drop one, does it suddenly look like dog food to the other mongrels, or are you still numero uno on the menu? Much as I like my "mouse gun," I'd opt for a .357 wheelgun for wilderness hiking.
