Re: Would You Buy An Automatic Z06? No, I wouldn't buy an automatic Z06! It seems sac-religious to have a automatic sports car; besides I like to shift too much!

Re: Would You Buy An Automatic Z06? Say what you want but when I'm stuck in the ATL traffic for 3 hours my clutch starts getting a little heavy. I'd love to have either a continuously variable tranny or a 6 or 7 speed w/paddle shifter option. __________________ SOLD: 02' Z06 Dyno Tuned @...

Re: Would You Buy An Automatic Z06? In my opinion...the 436hp 3300lb Grand sport with the roof off option as well as a 6 speed paddle shifter answered the original question on this board.... There was a market need for this type of transmission for consumers to buy the car...Call it by a different name? give it a 3300 lb steel chassis z06 look a like wide body (with some differentiation).. yet it has a lift off roof, or convertible...

GM would do well to offer both the traditional 6 spd manual gearbox and a dual-clutch type tranny as options.

Re: Would You Buy An Automatic Z06? I guess the question is what defines a ZO6? If it's raw track car with an awesome naturally aspired engine, manual tranny, upgraded suspension and brakes, we have that great car now. Let's leave it at that. Now a new car with paddle shift tranny, same great LS7 engine, suspension brakes and call it say the "Sting Ray". Now that would be great and this debate could be settled on...

Re: Would You Buy An Automatic Z06? Actually, for "average" drivers, who are not skilled at competition driving on the track, paddle shitters would probably help their lap times. But for many these cars will NEVER see any track time, so why not have the convenience of an automatic. With a six speed the hit on gas mileage is minor. On the other hand if an "auto" Z06 increases weight resulting in less...
