Thread: 'You Killed my father.. You Tried to kill my Mother' ... EXPLAIN PLEASE!
Started 4 weeks ago by movielover_no1
why did 'Conor' said that to 'Marcus' after capturing him? .. while the terminator who killed his father was a T-800 that was destroyed in the Past !!!
Could anybody explain this !!!
Connor believes Marcus is yet another agent of Skynet, so, he addresses Marcus in this way because he sees him as the "embodiment" of the evil computer that did indeed try to kill him and his parents.
It was thrown in by the directory for dramatic purposeless.
But it can be explained by the plot in many ways:
A) May have been public knowledge that his parents were killed by the terminators.
B) The machines could link "John Connor" with "Sarah Connor".
C) John was going to destroy the terminator right after.

"A) May have been public knowledge that his parents were killed by the terminators."
I think it's quite likely that Skynet knew at least of John's 'messiah' status, and what the general legend consists of. This helps explain why he is on their target list.

yet how can he be of messiah status when there is no fate. when the decision to do time travel hasnt been made yet.
yet - skynets very existence is based off the time travel done and the terminator parts found.....
welcome to time travel paradoxons
"yet how can he be of messiah status when there is no fate."
The films actually seem to point at fate existing. The 'No fate...' is just a way for Sarah and John to believe they can break out of the cycle. The sad thing is, they don't seem able to.

Unfortunetly there is no fate, to a certaine extent(T3), but then TS brought us back to the "Future is Set" while making his won changes. Face it. We won't know wether the future is set or not, seeing as its up to anyone who makes the movie. Nothing is sacred anymore.
"What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion."
Marcus: No John, I am your father. Join me, and we can end this desctructive conflict and bring order to the world.
John: Noooo!!!! (Jumps down missile launch tube)

After finishing in the library and the dining room, Ron and Harry turned the wands upon themselves.
this is just my imagination running wild, lets say when kyle reese went to the past to save sarah conner, lets say he survived and lived in the past, he'd be alive to be a witness to his own birth by his parents, making there 2 kyle reese's no?

It has nothing to do with a messiah type story, otherwise this wouldn't be Sci Fi. Its a time travel, complex, emotional driven, naked robot, action type story. "What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion."
"I still say it's entertaining though. The Terminator films (ALL 4 OF THEM) are wonderful sci-fi rides and people take them all too seriously." T1 was a serious movie. T2 was a great action movie with enough plot and character development to glue them all the scenes together, and still had a moral message at the end. T3 was a blatant cash-in riding on the fame of the first 2. T4 was an expensive and embarassing disaster...
