Makes no sense to me It might be that they feel or believe that people under 18 are too impressionable and/or not mature enough to handle certain things such as harmful chemicals. Certain restrictions make sense to me. It just initially surprised me today when I was questioned about my age because I was buying Tylenol.

Some hair dyes have enough chemicals to burn your scalp if you don't use then correctly.

Certain types of cough medicine bring up a date of birth entry when they are rung up because people abuse them to achieve a high. Sudafed, however, is usually in a locked in case in addition to having an age restricting, due to the fact that is the main active ingredient in meth.

So what do they think people over 18 wouldn't do this type of stuff or something? Makes no sense to me

They are a lot of items people are being carded now in days for various reasons. In New Mexico people under 18 can't buy spray paint due to concerns with huffing and vandalism. Some stores won't sell lighters to minors.
