My blog has generated enough money this month to make a >$1/day average for the month, and there are still a few days to go! I know that doesn't sound like much, but I'm quite happy about it. All the webmaster forums say it's a very important milestone. Next goal $100/day
Also, same day, I got my first surprise review copy of a book. (I also reviewed Steve's book, but that of course ...

I don't think you can look at dollar value alone. I scored a great deal on a car for $2,880 and it has been working well for me for nearly two years.
A friend of mine just got a Cadillac with only 46k miles for $1,500! I couldn't believe it. The old lady she bought it from just wanted to get rid of it.
Generally speaking, I'd say you're going to spend around $4,000 (at minimum) for a nice ...

1. Check best sellers on Amazon. I often check books. Top selling books.
hm. I dont get the point. what's that good for? if I'm creating an information product in a specialized niche, I usually won't find anything on the bestsellers list about that, do I?
could you clarify this?
Check out top affiliate products, sell those products through pay-per-click (because they have been proven to work, obviously), survey everyone through an autoresponder to see what their biggest fears and frustrations are in relation to whatever the product deals with (and what they most want to see), then make your own product that gives them exactly what they want.
This frightening, I'm in exactly the same position as Liger and have decided to start a blogging challenge too.
I also vowed to never get a job but by Dec 5th I need to start paying a fairly large debt I got into.
However I have less experience blogging and will be almost starting from scratch, but my goal for the moment will be to make a mere $100 hundred a month by the end of the next ...

Liger and gbarv,
I admire your passion and interest in learning a full time income from your blogs. Having the desire and the will is half of the game.
My recommendations (pardon me if some are obvious):
!) Find a number of people who have done what you're planning to do. Learn what they did and use it as a model for your own passions. Try Problogger and Art of Nonconformity as a ...

Hi,
I'd like to make next year a Buy Nothing Year, i.e. buy nothing unnecessary for a year. That means no processed foods, DVDs, books, computer games, new clothes (I have enough as it is!), used clothes...I could, but won't, go on.
The main things I can think that I'll need to buy are food, medicine, transportation (bike repairs, bus slips, gas), gardening supplies, maybe ink, maybe some ...

At least not for things like Joomla or wordpress.

Curtis - thanks for explaining all that! I think 107 new designs is not bad at all! And I know there were heaps of other entries that people loved that didn't even make it through. We submitted 3 entries ourselves but only 1 got selected - shame because I really liked Pete's minimalistic Azure template. I guess they just had to draw a line somewhere with so many entries. Anyways, yeah we used that same template to make Sheltie...
Not me. "The contest is open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Arizona, Maryland, Vermont, and Puerto Rico) who are at least 18 years of age" But good luck Stacy!
