This seems like a lot of receiver for little money,no.
Am I missing something here ? I have no affiliation or no interest in buying but it looks like a fair deal for someone.
Are there any Yamaha owners that would care to comment on this particular model ?

Could be a good risk for someone like Merrylander, who knows his way around the insides of these. The ad notes that it has been in a box since 1977 and that the dials are stiff, but it looks like the tuner section works. With some work, it could be a bargain
Not familiar with this receiver, but the price seems to be close to the going rate. The last two on Ebay went for $100 and $150, both claimed to be in perfect working condition and the one for $150 looked close to mint.
I won one (local pickup) for $78 a few months back and it works great* after a thorough cleaning, *but the tuner needs attention - drifts. blarg. Nice receiver if it works, that one on Agon, looks a bit rough but still worth it if working. It's a sleeper for sure, Yami's TOTL at the time IIRC. Sliders always scared me and the CR-1000 was never high on my list to acquire, but the price I sniped it...

same here. listening to it now with Polk 7b's
I have $200 in it, and no regrets.
IMO any TOTL vintage receiver over 100 WPC is worth a bit more per watt than it's ...

For some reason the CR-1000 doesn't bring big money. Must be all those sliders <G>. I'd get that one in a minute, but am not acquiring these days.
