The 8 wonders of the world thread got me thinking. What do YOU consider to be the top wonders of the world. They can be natural or man made? (You don't have to have been to them all, it's just a fun 'opinion' thread) Mine, in order: 1. Petra 2. Angkor Wat 3. Great Wall of China 4. Pyramids of Giza 5. Taj Mahal 6. Machu Picchu 7. Ngorongoro Crater 8. Easter Island

The Bird's Next and the man made islands the Palm and the World are hard to ignore.

On that basis, I would say Ireland - hard to identify one particular spot, but West Coast spectacular The Pyrennees - much wilder than the Alps Yunnnan Province in China Hiking around Huaraz in Peru The Dolomites in Italy The Great Barrier Reef in Oz Palenque in Mexico Milford Sound in New Zealand Hong Kong, Vancouver and Rio all spectacularly located cities. These are places that I have been to that I regard as my 8 wonders of the world: 1) Temples of Bagan, Myanmar 2) Temples of Angkor, Cambodia 3) The Great Wall, China 4) Taj Mahal, India 5) Mount Bromo, Indonesia 6) Potala Palace, Tibet 7) Hagia Sofia, Turkey 8) Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, India

Hmmm... well of the places I've been, I'll go with: 1 - The Registan, Samarkand 2 - The pyramids of Egypt 3 - The Taj Mahal, India 4 - The Arctic Highway, Norway 5 - Petra, Jordan 6 - Table Mountain, South Africa 7 - La foret au Fontainebleau, France 8 - Venice... And I'm looking forward to adding to the list... :-) Ben.
