Dust 'em off and clean it with a wet towel then dry it with a Shamwow. Playing CoD instantly makes you a gun expert.

If blowing on it didn't work then it was unfixable.

It's simple really. Just get a bucket, and fill it up with windex, lime-a-way, and industrial strength floor cleaner. And just let the cartridge soak for about an hour or so. When you pull it out, throw it in the microwave for about 30 to 45 seconds so it can dry and voila. Good as new. Although you will also want to make sure your console is very clean since they are older and very touchy. Just ...

When I clean NES carts, I use Q-Tips and Rubbing Alcohol, as suggested, on the contacts. As for general cleaning on the casing and label, I'd suggest mild soap and warm water. And though I haven't used it yet, I heard 'Goo Gone' gets rid of sticker residue and possibly marker from the plastic. I've got games all the way back to the Atari 2600, and none of them are dusty.  Most of them are still kept in their original cardboard boxes, and all of them are kept inside plastic ...
