I had my first smear when I was 22 after the birth of my son back in 1996. The results came back as borderline. I returned again 6 months later and the results were still borderline. I did not follow this up until 2002 as far as I can remember. I was referred for a colopscopy and I am sure treatment took place there and then. hi faith, please dont beat yourself up over this, i know how you feel as i had not gone for a smear for 10 years and then went i finally went in aug my results came back as severe dyskariosis and i have just had colp and then lletz under GA to remove abmormal cells. like you i was so annoyed at myself for ignoring my own health for so long but the important thing is that you have now booked a smear and hopefully all will be well. take care and...
