Thread: World Jokes

What do you think is the best joke from your country? I saw this in a readers digest but the jokes weren't very good, the insight of what different countries find funny was fun to read though, types of humor and what not. So what joke do you like best in your country?

Here's one Sainthood For Marcos I heard recently that no Filipino saints have ever been selected and feel this is a wrong that must be righted. I know of at least one Filipino who has passed the criteria for sainthood (performing three miracles), Ferdinand Marcos. The miracles he performed are: 1) He took millions, possibly billions of dollars out of one of ...

I typed out a joke the other day but deleted it when I realised that the local internet police (not city-data, mind you) might not like it. So, I will try again with a different joke. Here is a joke that I heard in China, told by Chinese, about Americans. An American couple living in China had two sets of twins (I know, unusual). They were asked by a Chinese person, in halting English, ...

I have a Malay colleague who is quite funny at times. Sometimes it helps to see the usage of words in English from the perspective of a second language user. We were talking about his studying in the USA for his bachelors degree, and I asked, "Did you study overseas for a long time?" He replied, "I have never studied over seas; I have always studied over land."

If you google "Gordon Campbell's clock", it'll lead you to the source of this story. So this one is a Canadian joke. Author unknown. Um, it's still safe to laugh at our politicians here in North America. Gordon Campbell's Clock Taking a wee break but couldn't resist this one: A man died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked,...

Inside is this rather old Chinese gentlemen and welcomes the visitor. Visitor asks, Why is the store called Macintosh Souvenirs ? Old gentleman explains: I came to this country long time ago. I come thru and the guy in front of me is from Scotland. Official asks:...
