Thread: Wool cycling caps: whats good?

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by Johnny K
I need a wool cycling cap with ear flaps that will fit under a helmet and not be an ill fitting piece of crap. Who makes one? And, uh, its to ride on my 29er in the cold...so theres the 29content!

Just be VERY mindful if you get a woolie Walz. First handwash/lay flat dry and mine was too small for my fat head. Gave it to a friend-girl of mine. I wish they made a XXL version. The L/XL was borderline small to begin with.

Smartwool Beanie, it's thin, warm, fits under all my helmets, and just covers my ears. Flyn G

Not wool, but I got a team discovery nike/giordana winter cycling cap off ebay for 10 bucks. Great hat, long ear flaps, solid brim, plenty warm. One of the better bike accessory pieces I own.

Sorry...moving this too the general forum. Questions about generic bike parts in the 29er forum is one thing....clothing is just pushing it too far.

why wool? if my ears are cold im dying. everything else can freeze but my ears really get me! i have a super thin sugio under-helmet specific cap that doesnt let me down. anywhere else on my body i really dont like synthetic material. some of those octopuscaps are awesome! doersnt look like they'd be comfy with a helmet at all though.

No wonder I keep spending so much time in General when I never go there, I just read the nightly email summary of the 29er forum and here I am in General again and again and again.
