Thread: Wolfenstein 3D DS - WIP News

Started 1 month ago by wraggster
Lazy1 continues to work on the port of Wolf3d for the DS: Tried another automap style: It fills out as the engine renders the level rather than looping through the map every frame. Problem is it looks like crap. 1) I need to get the map more visible 2) Proper colors per texture are needed http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.ph...82f38fdd729 c9c

It not really productive. The tree take a while to put out and as soon as you do the trees catch fire again. A few trees I couldn't put out. I like the game. putting mario as a fireman. This game has alot of depth. You could have the trees burn down, and plant new trees after you put out all the fires.

News/release from DekuTree64 Yet another little art program for DS. The controls are explained in the program, but here are the basic features: - 2 layers ("BG" and "Top"). BG gets copied over when you create a new frame, so you can have a persistent background, or modify it as you go. - 60 color palette, which can all be modified. - Brush size up to 16 pixels, with optional...

News/release from Noobey During the last days I played around with espeak and made a demo for it on the NDS. espeak itself works without modifications on the DS - but it only can generate .wav files. I did some changes and here it goes: --- See ./arm9/espeak/espeak_global.h for samplerate, sound format (8/16 bit) and the data-path setting Quote Here some more ...

You know that free 1000 Nintendo Points offer that comes with every Nintendo DSi system? Well, it's about to expire. As an incentive to get people to link their systems online and to show off the DSi Shop Channel and its DSiWare, Nintendo gives every DSi owner 1000 free points to purchase any downloadable product. But the offer is limited: come October 5, 2009, you won't be able to get those 1000...

DS sells over 10 million in UK
Published (2009-12-10 12:21:00)
Nintendo's DS handheld has sold over 10 million units in the UK, according to data from GfK Chart-Track, becoming the best-selling console in the region's history. The console has passed the 10 million mark faster than Sony's PlayStation 2, and Nintendo estimates 1-in-6 people in the UK have a DS. "Nintendo's Touch Generations range of software, which has been expanding the definition of videogame, has resonated...

It's valid, it probably just timed-out on you. I'm on 56k dialup and can't download attachments here unless I dedicate my bandwidth, and resume partial downloads. Probably need some sticky thread to explain this so old threads keep from being necro'd. Nifty homebrew though, I must have missed it. Now I can annoy people like that braindead bitch in the Australian DSi commercials.

There is another one of these out, though I don't think it's been updated in over a year. So I'm glad to see a whole new project!

Nintendo DSi LL Wine Red - DSi XL
Published (2009-11-26 12:20:00)
Nintendo DSi LL - DSi XL Japan Version (Japanese Language) Now the Nintendo DSi LL - DSi XL is outselling the PSPgo in Japan. In comparison to its little brother DSi , it\'s bigger and clearer, with 4.2 inch bigger screens, stunning and vivid colors, it\'s really fantastic! And also it\'s easier to judge precise jumps and avoid incoming obstacles with greater accuracy. So the faster-paced DS games will no-doubt be easier and...

It's not really that useless, that's like saying that GB emulators are useless when we have GBA emulation. There's plenty of old pre-386 games that people would love to see on the DS, just checkout the amount of requests on the gbadev.org thread.

Honestly, I'd probably explode with joy if 16-bit Windows applications were emulatable. But a man can only dream of playing Civilization II on the move, I doubt the DS would have the power for Windows apps (That, and Microsoft would probably have a fit =p). On the other hand, what is done here is just absolutely spiffing. I await progress.

[Photo from CVG] As the launch in Japan as begun, the folks at Computer and Video Games have managed to get a hold of a new Nintendo DSi XL. They've posted some photos comparing its size to the likes of the first DSi and a PSP go. See them all right here .
