Thread: Winter

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by ebarws6
I love winter weather out here, because it doesn't get too cold (it has never snowed during my lifetime in this area) and I don't mind rain, but seriously, the sun going down at 5 o'clock and before? Fail. I realize it is only Fall right now, but my mind seems to jump directly from Summer to Winter. Fall seems to just pass by.

I hate winter here because it never fucking snows. Nope, it's just constantly mid 40s during the day, low 30s at night with a cold ass rain. Ugh.

Maybe for one week a year it is like that here. other times it may warm up and be 70 degrees for a week or so. Most of the time it's mid to upper 50s for the day and down ten degrees from that overnight. I usually head up to Oregon for the holidays, and I love the weather up there, because it usually rains up there, if not snows just a bit. Usually it's only a few inches of snow too, so it's ...

Alabama winters: It's either going to be 80 degrees or 30 degrees. There is no in between.

Being a fatass, I love winter. Especially when it gets around 40 or so. Nothing pisses me off more than a 80 degree day in December or January.

I despise winter. I hate the snow. I don't do winter sports. I hate having to get outside at 7 in the morning to scrape half inch chunks of ice off my car, shovel a path around my tiny little Nissan just so I can get enough room to get going. It is cold, bitter and generally miserable. I had a framing job with a buddy during the winter of 2007-08 and it was miserable some days. It was usually...

I like winter. Just like ebarws6, it never gets too cold out here, and generally only rains (at times heavily). The coldest day of winter probably has a low temperature of around 35 in the LA basin, and once in a great while you'll get frost on your windows of your car, but generally, that almost never happens. I love the crisp, cool air when I breathe, and I associate the cooler weather ...

Also it was awesome on Friday, the snow came down 3 hours earlier than predicted (lol meteorology) so by about 10pm there was good covering. Arlington had gone into lock down. A few of us were heading out and we had to wait for our friend to get his tab at this one bar (they make you wait in this long ass line even if you're seated at a table). We knew he'd be 20 minutes or so so we went to a Whole Foods across the street. Bought a...

I think we are in the same boat as JB- overnight into and through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be bad. Santa is bringing his box of winter rape for the upper midwest.

I usually get to work in the dark and leave in the dark. I read or play video games when I get home. The spring time is awesome with every day getting lighter. Eventually I will be able to fish after work every day like a good redneck.

So just not a good day for me today. It was snowing when I left for work, so I turned my lights on. Usually I use a switch that will turn the lights on and they will automatically turn off. But I had to use the button today, so they don't turn off automatically. So my car dies. After about an hour or so after work, I get someone to jump it. To top it off, when I'm driving home I take a hill too fast and try to brake but I've got...
