(more like one extremely small scratch)
you can see light pass through the disc.
mine just arrived from amazon, and unfortunately has this scratch present.
please examine your discs, and see if you see this.
They can cause the movie to freeze during ...

I've been following this on both the AVS forum and here. On AVS, the same poster that reported the defective discs said his friend had one copy with the scratches that froze, and he took it back to Best Buy and opened a second copy and saw it had the scratches too - he did not say if his friend actually exchanged for the second copy and tried to play it, only that it had the same scratches. So ...

yeah the deal is that the friend bought a copy and watched it, had the problems, and returned it.
while there at BB he opened the other copy they had, and it ALSO had the scratches.
so that's 2 copies plus mine makes 3.
plus this report in the post above so that's now 4.
I am not trying to say that every disc is defective, but there does seem to be an issue.
so far I have watched a little ...

well I finally finished my copy this weekend, and am very happy to report that I had no freezing issues, so baring a sudden increase in poor reports, I think we can assume that even though there clearly are some discs with these small scratches, it doesn't appear that they necessarily lead to any problems.
I also emailed a follow...
got my copy from amazon yesterday. i inspected the disc and it seems to be completely flawless, can't find any scratches or anything out of the ordinary. i'll be watching it this afternoon.

Outstanding film, IMHO. Peter Faulk is a pleasent suprise too I have not bought it yet but I saw it at BestBuy yesterday for $44.00! ( eek ) Last edited by MarkWM; 12-22-2009 at 02:42 PM . Reason: can't spell
So how would you guys say this compares to "Angel-A". I really liked that movie, but didn't really like "City of Angels". I also read somewhere that Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are in this movie, so that helps. __________________ Helpful spelling hints: 1. definitely 2. sequel 1. Inglourious 2. I also received this title from Amazon and I noticed the tiny scratches on the disc (label side). The scratches are so small, though, that I would be surprised if they affected playback. I'm looking forward to watching this film. I love Wenders' Paris, Texas, but I haven't seen this one yet. I did just watch Downfall, in which Wings of Desire's Bruno Ganz portrayed Adolf Hitler (a very good movie, by the way).
