Thread: Windows 7 System Requirements - for the 70-680 test

I am studying for the 70-680 test.  I have found that the system requirements for Windows 7 seem to change depending on where you ask (or read). The Self Paced book from Microsoft says (on page 5): Starter and Basic 1 Ghz 32 bit or 64 bit processor 512 MB of RAM 20 (x64) or 16 (x86) hard drive with 15 gig avail Graphics adaptor supporting Direct X 9 and 32 Meg of Graphics Ram Premium, ...

Starter and Basic isn't available except in certain markets. Starter is available by OEM's for netbooks only. I would go for what the web page says. Your not taking the test for a snapshot in time (when the book was printed) but for the ongoing development of technology.

Hi Chakotay2, First, you need to know that the Starter edition and Basic Edition of Windows 7 is designed for entry level PCs and available only in certain regions. Some features such as Aero Glass,   Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes and the ability to switch between users without having to log off and etc are not integrated...
