Thread: Win2008 Server: Prevent users from copying files

i have some HTML document stored in a windows 2008 server. i want to make users be able to read the files but prevent them from copying the HTML files. i was told that this can be done under windows 2008 server. your help is appreciated!

and where did you get that info from? What you ask is impossible!!! If you can read the file -- you can make a copy of it.

Hello, It is not a technology I am familiar with, but Microsoft does offer a technology called Microsoft Windows Rights Management Services . Perhaps it will meet your needs. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

and where did you get that info from? What you ask is impossible&#33;&#33;&#33; If you can read the file -- you can make a copy of it.
