Whats the story of Lim Kenn . Is he English born or moved here recently. Is he full time or studying. Does he qualify for England ?

FashionPolice replied 3 weeks, 6 days ago
No its just leeds met trying to take over the badminton world - a four/five year vacation for the team from malayasia, all expenses paid (a bit like doctor evil from the film AustinPowers "Goldmember")!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lozza replied 2 weeks, 5 days ago
Lim Kenn and the other Malaysians may be on scholarships but they are training every day at uni - Kenn trains two to three times a day more often than not and not only valuable members of the team, but great sparring players for others such as myself.

"send them back". lozza your completely right about it all, and people who come up against them in tournaments shouldnt be thinking why are they playing they should be thinking that it is a good test of their own ability and should relish the challenge. as for the 4 malaysians at leeds met, they are all extremely nice people so ...

I actually think my results were pretty decent from the age of 18 to about 25 for a non full time player of my potential - I'm certainly happy with the Badminton / Work balance I had through those years. And i don't think my job is too bad - I paid off my student debt over about 6 years at a rate that felt comfortable. I agree that my results have been deteriorating the last couple of years as I have to committ more time to my career...

Good one. Though it seems we have gone off topic. Would like to congratulate the Lim Kenn for his gold medal at BUCS Individuals this weekend and agree with the comments made previously regarding English badminton players. I think that the Malaysian players can attract the top english players to come to the university for good training purposes.... it also appears that Kenn is a bit of a celebrity (based on the amount of attention he got this...

at the end of the day it is only a university trying to get the best results possible. I agree with whats just said as i have trained with the malaysians now for 2 years and i have improved so much more than i would have if i was just playing against english players. also other players outside the university will have improved playing the likes of these guys at tournaments as you only get better playing better players. All i can say is keep...
