Thread: Will the keto diet work if I take in a few extra carbs?

This may seem like a ridiculous title, but let me explain. I've been on the keto diet for 4 days now, and recording my carbohydrate intake. It averages out to 40g a day. I ride my bike to school, 2 miles each way, and have a solid workout program. Will the keto diet be ineffective at 40g of carbs?
ps.
I ask because it seems 30 is the limit from what I've been told
5:30 AM
100% Whey Protien Shake with 1 teaspoon creatine mixed in 4 cups water: 4 carbs total
11:30 AM
4 slices of lunchmeat (ham, turkey, roast beef) with 2 slices swiss cheese and 2 servings of peanuts: 20-24 carbs total
3:00 PM
Sausage or 4 medium eggs cooked with butter: 20-24 carbs total
6:00-7:00 PM
Eggs, chicken, or tuna: 20-24 carbs total...
Needs a lot of cleaning up. If your lunch meat has that many carbs, its not worth it.
Drop Peanuts, go for Almonds or Walnuts.
The snacking isn't good either. I mean we all get something to cure a sweet tooth, but if you ate enough of the good stuff (meats, veggies) you wouldnt need to snack that much.
Stick to more REAL meats and add veggies in there.

Ok all. Sorry I raged on you. I'd recieved information that the production of almonds created something that makes their glycemic rating high. I have looked and looked for information to back this up, but I have failed. I learned this inncorrect fact from a source that's usually reliable, so forgive me.

I remember reading a post here from someone paraphrasing lyle mcdonald that you don't have to be in keto to get the benefits of keto. Just close enough... shrug
