Facts:
-horrible undergrad GPA (<70%).
-post grad diploma in Accounting (>80%).
-will have big 4 accounting experience and my CA designation.
I'm just wondering...would an MBA cover my horrible undergrad GPA for employers that recruit at MBA recruiting events? Let's just say we're talking about Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, BCG, Bain, Mckinsey type companies/firms.
The way I would sell it is list only your MBA GPA (it's the most relevant) and list your undergrad without GPA, and then go into work experience..
You've got the benefit of having solid work experience with the Big 4 and that should mean more than an undergrad you did several years ago.
tylaw, I have a cousin who basically spent 8 years unemployed before he got a job at Goldman, with just a BComm, and completing his level 1 CFA. Not great marks either, maybe not quite as bad as your undergrad, but your undergrad was in engineering, right??

After a while, he became a bartender at a pub in London that was frequented by many GS employees.

Investment banking is not difficult work. This is an undeniable fact. Any idiot can discount a PV, or build simple models in Excel (which most Associates probably don't even do). I don't see the big deal about doing 70 hours of work/week, when the work itself is not strenuous or intellectually demanding. People "burning out" in iBanking is the funniest thing in the world to me.
