Thread: Will LeBron join Kobe in L.A.?

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by FreakofNature
Sam Smith believes a LeBron to the Lakers’ scenario makes the most sense for him if he wants a chance to be considered among the greatest winners of all-time. http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_091102.html

If LeBron will just walk away, it's better for Cleveland to get something in return. This scenario is completely plausible and is the one that works best for all the parties. _________________ 09-10 Predictions: LAL 67-15, 16-5, Title #16 Memo to Ariza:

But you watched James in the Olympics and he seemed to embrace the supporting role... ...besides the 27 times he reminded the media that he was the leader of the team. _________________ Lakers & Minny's 1st matchup, 1990 Bulls @ Lakers, 1993 (Chick/Stu)

What would the Lakers give Cleveland . It's an exciting, yet scary proposition.

don't think so.

highly unlikely

I don't remember any time where Sam Smith got a rumor right. He makes Peter Vescey look like Nostradamus.

Lebron's ego would never permit this. He has to be THE star. _________________ "...one of the most valuable players in the league…Of course, I estimate him perhaps higher than other people. Perfect!!! Let's do a sign and trade for Luke Walton and Sasha. We'll also toss in Ammo and Farmar. Too bad it's a pipe dream.

We would be thin? well maybe but we would have a starting lineup of : Pau/Lebron/Artest/Kobe/Fisher Lebron could play the 4 and alternate with Artest who could also play the 4. Then we could use Powell at the 4 off the bench and if we could get a journeyman vet center off the bench we could even throw Pau at the 4. That team is a match up nightmare for everyone in the NBA! Wha 4 will be able to guard Lebron? OK so he will have his issues on...

You aren't looking at this from Cleveland's perspective. People buy stars for one reason, to fill seats. Their fans would never forgive them if they don't get a star in return. _________________ 2 years ago the script was written for Boston, last year it was for Lebron and we won anyways, this year I suspect it goes back to Boston, and I think the pundits know it.

Yeah. Lamar and Odom would be losing a lot wouldn't it. _________________ In regards to a certain fan wanting to cut his wrists: Orestes: "Guess that's one way to find out if you really bleed purple & gold."

I am; the problem is that you're not thinking through the answers. 1) Cleveland requests Kobe. Fine. How do you get Kobe to leave a major metro center and championship contender for a much smaller city whose team won't make it past the first round, and whose lake used to catch fire. Try selling that to Kobe, as he has to agree to the trade. Did you say realisitic? 2) Why would Cleveland want Pau Gasol instead of Andrew Bynum?!?...

If that were to happen, LA would not have to throw Odom in the mix either.

Decimation does not shelve in personal alone. (1) You'd have two leaders, LeBron and Kobe that will become a who's team is it another Shaq dilemma. (2) Chaos within the unit and coaching staff, who do you defer to. (3) Loss of key personal i.e. Odom, Bynum, Artest that were main cogs in the winning of a ship. (4) Loss of draft picks would weaken the teams ability to strengthen itself. (5) End game heroics, who takes the last minuet...

Our size is one of our biggest strengths. We get rid of those two and all we have is Pau, with Mbenga as the backup center.

LakerJam wrote: Not happening. Lebron coming here would be tantamount to his admitting that he can't lead a team to a title and needs to ride Kobe's coattails. Beyond that, Smith is WRONG. Lebron is not happy in a supporting role. He's harped on how he's the leader of his team since arriving to the Cavs, and kept insisting he was the leading of team USA. Not happening. The main reason I don't think that is true is...
