Dont really understand above post but you cant get out of any given wing because concrete goes all the way to the roof but if a kid went up (and they have) into the ceiling they can get out of their locked rooms into others rooms or the common area. Had a male friend who worked at a "kiddie" jail and he finally quit. He got his ass kicked too many times because the staff can't fight back, only restrain the offenders. Good luck to your wife, not sure I would be comfy with my gal doing that work either.

Stress to her to be constantly aware of her surroundings. I've done contracting work from maximum security adult all the way down to juvenile prisons and done it in the population. It's easy to let your guard down around the kids but they're sneaky and every bit as dangerous as the adults.
