Thread: Why is the WII version is so completely different than the other versions?

I'm sure there's probably a good technical reason? To me, it is false advertising! I just beat the game playing on the WII and was pretty disappointed. I've never written a game review but feel pretty inclined to do one so more people don't put good money down for this game! For me the most frustrating part of this game was how the controls and camera worked. It probably took me twice as ...
I agree with you 100% But sadly, there are still people who are reluctant to hear what we have to say. I myself warned all my friends not to buy it for their Wii's and they listened so at least I know they didn"t support this crap version. I am very disappointed with the developers and in the future will definitely think twice about buying a game from them if it means they're going to hide ...
As a Tomb Raider fan for about 10 years, I have played each and every one of them. This is by far the worst game I have played in years. It has put me right of the series actually... When I got to the Thailand glitch, and I had to start again, well disappointment was gone by then. I was playing but just laughing at how bad it was. Playing for the comedy value alone. Then, my Wii crashed. And ...

I liked it too. No bug or crash happened to me... And I think the gameplay is fine, even if Anniversary was much better and I have no idea why they changed the control layout. I still had fun with the game though. I was surprised with the graphics too, some levels were very good looking, like Thailand and Mexico. Some not that much, like the ship levels... =P And this version is not SO different...
I finally came to the realization that Im not going to get many games on my Wii that I enjoy. This was the game that put me over the top. I posted a topic about it already. If anyone says that they had FUN playing this game, they are lying. There is nothing fun about knowing what to do BUT having to fight the terrible camera and controls for ten minutes to accomplish it. Yes, I was one of the ...
Actually, some of the levels are different. Xibalba in Southern Mexico is EXTREMELY different. The entire level was changed from a setup of a main room and four secondary rooms from which you need to retrieve four keys, not the two you find in the Wii version. The final level is cut in half. The first level is rearranged to fit in those absurdly easy Wii 'puzzles'. Parts of Thailand are cut out....
there are still people who are reluctant to hear what we have to say It's not that I'm reluctant to hear you out, I'm just a broke college kid whose already beaten Anniversary & Legend, and want to find out what happens next and I don't own or can afford a 360 or PS3 at this time. Probably won't be able to outside of getting one for X-mas, birthday, or graduation.
^youre right, and the Wii being less capable was no excuse for them to do that since Anniversary for the Wii was exactly the same as the other versions except for graphics of course.
^ Good idea, but unfortunately in the real world things don't quite work out like that . For instance, in my case our local Blockbuster decided not to carry the Wii edition of this game at all (I don't blame them really). Though it's still a shame because if I had known how mediocre this Wii edition of TRU was, I would've asked for a different game instead. Anyway, that's all in the past now. But I can't help to...
Here's a piece of advice for all video gammers. Before you spend $50+ on a game, try renting it first and try it out to see if you like it. If the game is not what you expect, but less, why would you want to spend full price on a game, and then feel dissapointed and ripped off? Rent it first, try it out for a while then decide if it's worth the $50+, which is a rip off as is.

i enjoyed it also, ok its not as good as anniversary but look at the bright side the, the puzzle's are the the same, story the same, graphics simular. the only thing's that are different is the controls and length of the game itself.

You people should try the ps3 version.. wow... and not just because of the eye candy. Wii version was just to milk as much $$$ as possible, wasn't a priority and it shows.
I was mad because it seemed like they purposely dumbed down the cutscenes. The ending of the craft manor and arctic sea levels Were a million times better than the rest of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if the designers for the wii version were simply too lazy to Muck up those cut scenes so they copy&pasted from the box and ps3 guys ' work.
