I don't understand this phenomena on Glocktalk.
There are many common major calibers available in semi-auto pistols, including 9mm, .357Sig, .40S&W, .45ACP, .45GAP and 10mm. There are just as many minor common calibers, such as .22LR, .25, .32, .380, 9mm Largo and 9mm Mak.
No single caliber listed above was designed to replace any other caliber listed above. All are ...

You can label that "endangerment", can't you?
I have never railed against the .45 GAP yet I don not have any interest in it. Being a dyed in the wool .45 ACP aficionado I find the the .45 GAP to be uninteresting at best.
For the general masses the price and availability of .45 GAP ammo in my estimation would be a significant turn off.
I have managed to pickup tens of thousands of spent cases which I use for reloading, yet to this ...
I don't understand the hate for it. Let the market decide what stays and what goes.
For me, I don't see a place for it. All the calibers I use/reload do double duty for competition. Now if IDPA allowed the .45 GAP in IDPA CDP (and there is no logic reason I can see that it shouldn't be), I'd buy one tomorrow.
I honestly think it's Freudian. If you put a .45ACP cartridge and a .45GAP cartridge alongside each other it is immediately apparent that the GAP is shorter. Never mind that they are balistically identical. Never mind logic. The GAP is shorter. That means that if you use the GAP your manhood must be shorter. We can't have that now can we?
I bought a Glock 37 several years ago, I really liked shooting it, the grip was perfect for my hand size.
However, after 10 months or so I sold it, I could not justify to myself spending almost double to shoot it, since I have no desire to reload again.
I will say, that as a former LEO, if I was to go back in uniform again, the Glock 37 would probably be my first choice (if available of...
Been carrying my G37 for a year now, love it, not only has it not endangered me personally, it has strengthened my ability to CC by way of me being able to shoot more accurately and quicker than with my G21.
Danny,
The number one reason people don't like it is because they have not shot it. If the 45acp works for them they see no reason in "adding" another calibre to what they have.
Glock should offer a .45 GAP at GSSF matches to be shot by participants in the match. Having an "extra" stage where the gun is provided for the entry fee would win over a lot of glockers.

I am a reloader and belive me, 45acp cases take the least amount of abuse, even when hot rodded by us "speed demons". Max...

Yup, the are taking delivery in March 2010, delivery of new Generation 4 G37's, making them the 5th State Police Agency out of 49 to adopt the GAP. Not bad for 6-1/2 years.
