Thread: Why bring Lex back in Season 8

Started 1 month ago by bhayanid
Ok I know this is very delayed, but the thought suddenly hit me. Why did they bring him back just to spite Clark, and Ollie to kill him. The Lex we all know and love from the first 7 seasons would never do something like that. He wouldnt have been in a stupid little van in Smallville or metroplois of whatever, and set that trap for Lana.

Ok, first things first... That wasn't Lex in that van . That said, of course Lex would set that trap for Lana. She had spent close to the last 2 years trying to destroy him.

Ok it wasnt Lex, but you get my point. No the Lex from the first 7 seasons is a lot cooler than setting a stupid trap like that. Pointless aspect of season 7

To deal with the dangling plot thread of what happened to him after "Artic"...which they screwed up royally. They implied in "Odyssey" and "Bloodline" that he was able to walk (unless that was someone else's footprint) and when we see him he's hooke up to a machine, then in a fancy wheelchair . What's more his "death" was more about dealing with an unavailable, unwilling actor than taking the ...

that he was able to walk (unless that was someone else's footprint) I always assumed that it was Clark since he was the one who hiked to a russian camp when he was powerless.

If they were willing to get someone else to play Lex, if only just the face like in last season, then they might as well recast and bring him back properly for a few episodes. As long as they cast properly, they could really make it work.

The footprint is Clark's, which is directly answered by Tess over the course of the season. It is never stated one way or another whether Lex can walk. However, I am sure (off my own guess) he can walk no problem and the Lex in the van was a clone. Steal a play off his ex-wife's rulebook.
