How to obtain happiness, what makes one happy, the secret to eternal happiness, blah blah... does anyone else smell the stench of redundancy in the air? Quite annoying...

Because it is rare and a scarce commodity. People search every where outside. Whereas it is hidden within.

Personally, nothing stinks as much as the WITMOL question. But I think it's just a sign that happiness is in short supply nowadays. It's like emotional porn...meant to give us a little solace by discussing it. But it can be a little unnerving at times since there usually isn't a definitive answer to give; just conjecture.

Sure? Why not? Look in the real world. Decode this lyrics " You'll see " "Wonderful world" "Money, money, money" "All for the money" "Big spender" "Can't buy me love" "Love" "Miss you like crazy" Luke 21.30-36 Luke 9.25,55-56,60 1 Timothy 6.7 Luke 24.44-45,47-48 Luke 9.27 Exodus 20.5 Revelation 22.13-17 What do you think?

Maybe because all are in search of happiness but only a chosen few were lucky enough to find it. That only shows what a pathetic world we really have - to know that more and more people each day are in quest to find happiness... They are so desperate that posting questions where and how to find happiness had become the norm for them. how depressing!

It is an elusive quality and worth while pursuing, to make life more meaningful. Life is best to be happy most times than sad, and to sprinkle it with a little bit of love, celebrations, gifts, holidays and all things positive and nice. More people seem to be sad than happy, including those who are already rich, it seems. :-((

Because people are idiots. if you said life was about ranch dip, they'd be asking "how can I go on if my ranch dip is sour?"

Because, most people make obtaining, or attaining, happiness more difficult than it is; and, rather than realizing they are solely responsible for their happiness, they generally want someone else to "make" them happy. Thus, it becomes more a question of, "what can you do, or tell me, to 'make' me happy?" there's a word for it, slips my mind at the moment, but it describes a person with an ...

Because happiness is an elusive *****. I'm sure if one person actually did know the secret to obtaining longstanding happiness, the rest of the world would stop coming up with theories about how to obtain it. The people who actually do know how to be happy all the time, on the other hand, can never spread the word. Happiness is something that you've gotta figure out on your own. It's not a universal thing, but a...

Also in the questions of what's the point of life, and if a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound (or however it's worded). Though i don't understand the tree one, i think people ask about happiness, because whether they want to admit it or not, they aren't happy. They aren't happy with their lives, and they're indirectly asking us for things that they might be able to use to make...
