Thread: Why are bot visits counted?

I consistently see Googlebot visits in my Statcounter stats. I'd prefer not to count such visits since they're not "human" visits. Does anyone know whether this is a deliberate choice of Statcounter or something accidental?

What kind of information do you in the stats for the bot? Anyway, this not either deliberate choice of Statcounter or accidental. The usual bots are not Javascript or image enabled, so you should not see them at all in the stats. But some bots are image enabled and they scan sites for images to index, so those bots get logged since 3rd party counters like Statcounter use a small image to be ...

What kind of information do you in the stats for the bot? Anyway, this not either deliberate choice of Statcounter or accidental. The usual bots are not Javascript or image enabled, so you should not see them at all in the stats. But some bots are image enabled and they scan sites for images to index, so those bots get logged since 3rd party counters like Statcounter use a small image to be able to log page loads by all visitors.
