The last play...was perfect Xs and Os from Norv.
A brilliant play to have Gates and Jackson go direct to the end endzone, splitting the lone safety to cover Gates and leaving Jackson one on one with the CB.
Brilliant, winning play. Kudos to Norv, Rivers, Gates, Jackson, and the whole Oline.
Why? 2 reasons for me.
1. He too the swager away from the O-Line and team and made them soft.
2. He Killed once a great running game with a horrible blocking scheme.
However on the positive side
1. He has Turned Rivers into a Monster QB.
2. 3 Playoff wins
I credit Charlie Joiner for getting our WR's where they are now.
Side note isn't it amazing how well Rivers ...

It was said teams stacked the box because Brees had a weak arm ... Turns out it was the weakness in attacking defenses downfield in Cammenheimer's offense ...

I never know what to make of Norv. But I do know that he is tied with Don Coryell and Bobby Ross for most playoff wins by a Chargers coach.
EDIT: I also know that Norv, despite the occasional boneheaded play call, hasn't done anything nearly as stupid as what Andy Reid did last night (kicking a field goal late in the 4th, down 7, with no timeouts left).

Turns out it was the weakness in attacking defenses downfield in Cammenheimer's offense that made it almost risk-free to stack the 8 and 9 in the box against us. Which also stifled them as QB's. Imagine how...

I believe in what Norv does mostly, I just hate it when he gets away from the run so easily. He also admits to some faults that I don't like Still, yesterday was as much of a Norv win as a defensive win. Both those entities came up big. Gates has one of those games once every blue moon, imagine how much better it would have been with those catches. Norv dialed up the right plays at the right time and as the players said, they practice...
